DailyStep ("we", "us", or "our") operates the DailyStep mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
We built DailyStep with privacy as the foundation. We believe your health data is yours alone, and we have designed the app to collect as little data as possible — in fact, we collect no personal data at all.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
DailyStep does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- Account credentials or user profiles
- Location data (GPS or network-based)
- Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, MAC address)
- IP addresses
- Usage analytics or behavior tracking
- Crash logs or performance data
- Any health or activity data
3. Local Data Storage
All step counts, activity history, and app settings are stored exclusively on your device in the app's local storage. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it yourself.
You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Clearing the app data from Android Settings
- Uninstalling the application
4. Permissions We Request
DailyStep only requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:
- Activity Recognition: Required to access your phone's step counter sensor and count steps. This is the only permission absolutely necessary for core functionality.
- Storage (optional): Only requested if you choose to export your activity history. We do not access your files otherwise.
We do not request any other permissions. We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive features.
5. Internet Access
DailyStep does not require an internet connection to function. The app works completely offline. It does not make any network connections, does not send any data to servers, and does not load any remote content.
6. Third-Party Services
DailyStep does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, or any other third-party libraries that collect user data.
There are no advertisements in DailyStep. There are no sponsored links, no tracking pixels, and no social media integrations.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone. Since we collect no data at all, children can use the app safely with parental supervision.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
Given our commitment to privacy, any future changes will not reduce your privacy protections. We will never add data collection to DailyStep.
9. Your Data Rights
Since we do not collect any of your personal data, there is no data for us to provide, correct, export, or delete. All your data remains on your device under your control at all times.
Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since we hold none of your data, these rights are automatically satisfied.
